The Turner Foundation was established to preserve historical mechanical engineering, most notably motor vehicles and outboard engines, and to provide education to the public, engineers, motor mechanics and related trades in the restoration and maintenance of historical machinery.
High levels of skill, craftsmanship and dedication are required to successfully restore and maintain historic, vintage and veteran vehicles. These skills are rarely seen in modern vehicle manufacturing and even less in the training of modern trades and engineering disciplines.
With this in mind, The Turner Foundation has been set up to provide a location to view, train, preserve, maintain and share knowledge of this specialist craft.
Specialist tradesman, craftsmen and engineers exist who can perform this work and The Turner Foundation supports these skilled people in its restoration and maintenance works.
The high standard of workmanship is evident in the results of their labours, some of which can be viewed on The Turner Foundation website.
